Advice to Bidders
1. Watch the Auctioneer - he/she may not be taking your bid.
2. Don't get involved in a conversation when a Lot you want is getting near - CONCENTRATE!
3. If the Auctioneer doesn't seem to have taken your bid - shout louder, wave higher.
4. Don't crowd the Porter - others want to see what is being sold.
5. If you feel there is a problem mention it at the time - it will probably be too late to do anything about it later.
6. Bid quickly for your lot - by the very nature of an Auction it is fast, so if you are too slow you may lose it.
7. At the fall of the hammer the lot is your responsibility (if your bid was successful) - however, title to it does not pass until you have paid.
8. Decide how much an item is worth to you - and then stick to it.
9. If you are a private buyer, don't be put off by dealers in the Saleroom - they need to sell the item again AND make a profit.
